Governance & Committees

At PCC there are various committees and governing bodies bringing meaningful participation to assist in the decision making for the PCC campus. Shared Governance embodies many of the committees on campus, but there are additional committees within departments and sections throughout campus, that help make decisions and bring awareness around particular issues.

Shared Governance at PCC

Educational Services is charged with the responsibility of facilitating and supporting the college’s Shared Governance process. In an on-going effort to encourage consultation, collegiality, and transparency, Educational Services in collaboration with the college’s communications and web teams have created readily accessible links to the College Council and College Council Standing Committees.

For ease of communication and participation in Shared Governance, the published upcoming meetings of various shared governance bodies are included here, along with the Board of Trustee meeting dates. For full meeting schedules, archives of past meetings and other information, please go to the individual shared governance bodies’ websites.

THE ARTS AT PCC

We are a collective of dancers, composers, painters, illustrators, actors, and musicians.

At PCC, the arts are alive and thriving. Our contemporary Center for the Arts is your haven to explore your imaginations and push your creative boundaries. Dynamic academic classes, led by regarded professsionals, spark innovation and artistic passion daily. We expose our PCC community to arts and culture with annual theater and dance productions, art exhibitions, and musical concerts and performances.

Together, we at PCC work side-by-side to create, imagine, and hone our craft as we develop into the next generation of creative geniuses.

PCC is a great college.

In 2019, PCC was named a top ten finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. The committee noted our impressive transfer rates, strong focus on improving outcomes for low-income students and students of color, and dedicated services for war veterans. PCC was also a 2017 Aspen Prize finalist.

We are ranked #1 in Southern California and #2 in the state in awarding Associate Degrees for Transfer.

PCC Pathways’ effective use of guided pathways strategies has resulted in outstanding completion outcomes.
