QUALIFICATIONS

Low: An Associate Degree with/or Professional Software Development and Allied Certification Courses Programming and Coding – C Programming, Angular, Python, Java Certification or Mobile App Development, etc.;

DBMS or Architecture – Oracle, SQL/Server, MongoDB, NO SQL, PL/ SQL, DB2 or Mainframe, etc.;

Cloud Computing and Architecture – AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.; OS – MS Windows, Android or Apple iOS Developer;

On the Job Training (OJT), Apprenticeships, IT Workforce Job Training or Experience.

Medium: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering with majors in Math including calculus, linear algebra, geometry, differential equations, etc.; Software Developer certifications will be a big plus.

High: Post Graduation in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Software Developer certifications or an MBA, especially in Management Information Systems (MIS) or Finance will be an added advantage.

SKILLS/ TRAITS NEEDED

Software Developer needs to be ingrained with strong “hands-on” structured analytical and critical thinking skills, deep logical thinking, self-learning abilities, time management, prioritization & soft-skills, creativity and innovation, an investigative open mind with an aptitude for research and track the emerging technology trends, a spirit of inquiry and scientific temperament and must be detail-oriented and self-organized with a strong passion towards software coding, maintenance and architecture, and a self-motivated “can-do” attitude. Business knowledge and process orientation will be an added advantage.

WORK FUNCTIONS

Software Developers are generally responsible for research, software – design, coding and development, testing and debugging, diagnostics, implementation, deployment, maintenance and management of software programs and systems, and user training using software tools, utilities, and processes. They usually work closely with business or systems analysts and UX or UI design team. They may sometimes be needed to work in shifts.
