At CNCC, we believe that nursing is both an art and science. Becoming a nurse demands an interest and aptitude for science, well developed critical thinking and technical skills, and the ability to provide human comfort and kindness. Our mission is to provide a high quality education that prepares graduates to become competent nursing professionals who deliver the full spectrum of nursing care to diverse populations in an ever-changing healthcare environment. One aspect that truly sets the CNCC Nursing Program apart is our commitment to customer service and student advising. In addition, the applicant pool from which we admit students is relatively low compared to other nursing programs. If you meet all the requirements for admission, chances are good you’ll be accepted right away. As a vital part of CNCC’s Craig Campus, the Nursing program offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council of State Board of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). CNCC also offers an affiliated Nurse Aide course. Following completion of the four credit classroom / lab and concurrent one credit clinical courses, students become eligible to take a Nurse Aide Certification Exam to become a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA).
CNCC sits in the heart of rural agriculture and western culture, and with the agriculture and equine program, we try and utilize aspects of this environment in the classroom. Here, you can choose to between 2 different agriculture related degrees, and 3 equine degrees. The agriculture degrees include: associate of science in agriculture business or an associate of science in animal science. Both of these degrees are fully transferable to Colorado State University, and have common transferability to land grant institutions where these degrees could transfer to the bachelor’s level. The equine degrees include: associate of science in equine science, associate of applied science in equine training and management, or associate of applied science in equine studies and management. The agriculture program also offers a certificate in agriculture science that covers general introductory level agriculture courses.

Our instructors strive to have hands-on real world application brought into the classroom. This includes projects and assignments that come from real life examples and situations, to working with other programs at the college to create a well rounded product, or even as simple as having live animal projects that integrate coursework.
