About Michael Shay

Michael’s career spans 30+ years as a training visionary and training business owner. Michael first became exposed to On-the-Job Training (OJT) during his 5-year tour with the United States Air Force (USAF), where all the training he received followed the OJT methodology.

OJT inspired, Michael continued to implement his own brand of OJT, as a developer of training programs for Siemens’ Super Mini-computer division. Apple Computer teamed up with Michael and asked him to use their new digital video technology, code-named “Road Pizza” representing their new compression software, soon to be known as QuickTime™.

He agreed to their offer and went on to receive an abundance of support and resources from Apple Computer, enabling him to produce rich new-media training while at Siemens. Michael envisioned the future and effectiveness of on-demand video training and was one of the first to implement hugely successful QuickTime™ based video in 1993.

Michael then branched out on his own in 1994 and started the training company Online Job Training. Surprising to him the domain name www.ojt.com was available to purchase. His company serviced over 35 technology manufacturers such as Apple Computer, KLA-Tencor, Siemens, & Intel to name a few.

After time Michael experienced a dramatic slowdown in available training contracts as companies capitalized on government incentives to move manufacturing capabilities offshore.  Michael then took a job working with small to medium sized businesses as their advertising consultant, while working for a major national advertising firm.

Google certification and many years of deliberation led Michael to re-launch OJT.com, the domain he secured back in 1994, with a new direction, meaning, and purpose… primarily to match businesses searching for the answer to a dominant, competitive workforce with a vast host of potential training companies and their solutions.

Michael is passionate about using OJT.com to help bring jobs back to America and is glad to see that our federal government is now behind this great mandate.  Michael is using his wealth of experience as a training developer, along with his marketing and advertising knowledge, to publish a World Class National Training Resource Center on OJT.com.

Michael wants to use OJT.com to pull together training forces across America, make the training forces easily accessible to all of America’s workforce and companies, looking to make America once again the premier manufacturing entity in the world…The Dominant Brand “Made in America”.
