Considered an academic leader in the entertainment community for over 20 years, The Los Angeles Film School has developed a curriculum expressly designed to prepare students for the rigors — and changes — of the entertainment industry. During COVID-19, the program pivoted to remote learning, and more importantly, loaned equipment that allowed students to safely develop their talent without taking unnecessary risks or violating L.A. County’s stay-at-home orders. A robust career development team has also prioritized the Motion Picture Academy’s Gold Internship program to facilitate future learning and work experience for top students in the program.

CINEMATOGRAPHY

CREATE YOUR FUTURE IN FILM

As a cinematographer, you must understand camera movement, composition and, most importantly, lighting. Learn how to guide a film’s narrative through powerful imagery and become a master visual storyteller.

Earn your Bachelor of Science in Film Production. As a student, you’ll be exposed to every stage of film production through a theoretical and gear-centric curriculum.

• Our Bachelor of Science in Film Production Degree with a concentration in Cinematography is 120 credit hours and 36 months in length.
• Each class is studied exclusively during a four-week period allowing students to focus on one particular subject at a time.

You’ll use the same equipment used by the pros. We outfit you with a retina display MacBook laptop loaded with software including: Avid Media Composer, Final Draft, Movie Magic Budgeting, Movie Magic Scheduling, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.*

Our online Animation Program is designed to peel back the curtain and show you how professional animators create realistic environments and characters in video games, movies and other interactive media. You will explore the 12 principles of animation used by legendary studios and apply that knowledge to your creations.

The online Animation Bachelor of Science Degree offers three concentrations suited to your specific interests. You can choose to pursue Visual Effects, Environment & Character Design or Character Animation. All three concentrations build on the real-world animation pipeline in an experiential online learning environment. What are you waiting for?

The online degree programs are designed to bring the entertainment industry to you. Our industry-experienced instructors share their expertise through our Learning Management System (LMS). This secure, web-based platform allows you to discuss projects with your fellow classmates, submit weekly assignments and watch instructor videos all from wherever you live.

CREATE YOUR FUTURE IN ANIMATION ONLINE

Want to bring your characters to life? Our online Animation Program focuses on the principles of animation, blending technical proficiency with creative development. You’ll learn the character animation process step-by-step, from muscle movements to animated character expressions. This concentration teaches you how rigging helps create impressive character motions as well as how to build epic battle scenes from the ground up.

Our online curriculum allows you to improve your technical abilities and apply those enhanced skills to your chosen profession. As a student, you’ll learn the production pipeline and how to incorporate your designs into video games and movies.
