A union sheet metal worker is one of the finest trained craftsmen of all the building trades. They fabricate, install and service architectural sheet metal, kitchen equipment, and ductwork/equipment for heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems in residential and commercial buildings. They also work with many materials including galvanized, copper, aluminum, brass, and a wide variety of specialty materials.

Our training center is a state of the art facility, where the apprentices and journeymen of Local #88 are trained. The training center also hosts classes and training for the International Training Institute (ITI), the educational arm of the unionized sheet metal industry, bringing in journeymen from all over the country. We are equipped with computers for CAD drawing, sheet metal fabrication equipment, drafting, and welding (GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, Plasma, and Orbital). We also are equipped with a full service lab and testing, adjusting and balancing (TAB) lab. A fire life safety (FLS) lab is currently under construction.

Our training center is accredited through the ITI and is an AWS accredited weld testing facility.
