• We are the oldest Community College in Santa Clara County.
• We have one of the highest transfer rates, per every 100 students, in the Bay Area to four-year universities.
• 2018-19 SJECCD grads transferred to 9 UC and 16 CSU campuses and nearly a dozen private universities. 
• We are one of California’s top transfer colleges to San Jose State University.
• In 2019-20, SJCC awarded more than 1,320 degrees and certificates.

​Each employee group plays a key role in participatory governance and decision-making for the College.

Leaders within the AFT 6157, Academic Senate, CSEA, and Associated Students serve as advocates for the needs of community college students locally and at the state level.

Our dedicated classified staff offers services to help students navigate processes, and our team of managers and supervisors provide administrative oversight to programs and services.

Our faculty and staff not only teach and provide services to our students and each other, but they are also active in the community and their fields of expertise. We all feel that it’s important to be good citizens in our community and to support the city that supports us.

Accounting is the Language of Business

In any business, it’s all about the bottom line. That’s why accounting skills are critical to succeed in today’s fast-paced business world.

From creating a small business to working in non-profit or corporate finance to becoming a tax preparer, an accounting course is just the beginning! We have the accounting courses you need to help you reach your professional and personal goals.

With SJCC Accounting you can:

• Earn Accounting Certificates, or an AS degree

• Transfer to a university
• Take classes to prepare for the CPA Exam
• Meet the faculty who bring years of real-life work experience to the classroom
• Review class schedules for convenient times and locations
• Take an online Accounting course

• Serve your community and learn a valuable skill by  volunteering to prepare income taxes for low-income people. Contact Linda Ferrell by early November each year for service January through April.
