Programmatic or specialized accreditation represents an additional level of external peer evaluation and quality assurance that applies to specific programs within an institution. The focus of programmatic accreditation is on the curriculum for a specific program(s) and how it leads to professional practice. With programmatic accreditation, the quality of the programs are regularly benchmarked against specific criteria that prepare students for the industry of choice. Employers and students can trust that the program of study meets quality standards set by the profession.
See below for University of Phoenix degree programs that have received programmatic accreditation.

Counseling Skills Centers are educational training facilities that model mental health clinics and offer pro bono services to members of the University and local community.*
Providing confidential, quality care, our centers are staffed by counseling graduate students who work under the direct supervision of licensed, experienced professionals. Counseling Skills Centers offer marriage, family, child, couples or individual counseling, depending on the educational programs offered at that campus. Our counselors are knowledgeable, prepared, competent and ready to help you make steady progress with your personal goals.
*All sessions are recorded for training purposes. All potential clients will be screened to ensure an appropriate fit for work with a student counselor. Services vary by location.
We know that many valuable lessons are learned both inside and outside of the classroom. Whether you’re attending online or at a campus near you, the best way to connect to campus life is by getting involved. Make lasting connections, experience personal growth and enhance your overall university experience by participating in a Recognized Student Organization (RSO).
Through involvement in our officially-recognized honor societies, professional associations, academically‐focused interest groups or philanthropic organizations, you’ll have the opportunity to experience personal growth, cultivate leadership ability, gain professional knowledge and skills and develop career plans.
Each organization offers a unique experience that can help you build personal and professional relationships with fellow students and expand your network within your community and beyond.
